There can be following reasons causing yahoo upload or download errors:
CONFIGURATION SETTINGS OR SECURITY SETTINGS OF THE WEB BROWSER:- Sometimes a user who just happens to open their mail receives the upload or download error message through they have been using the same web browser and have never encountered any issues related to it. However when the user tries to just change the web browser and then opens the email, the attachments that failed to download gets successfully downloaded. A user can try disabling the web browser’s extensions and add-ons from the browser’s tool menu and manage add-ons menu.
LARGE ATTACHMENTS:- sometimes large attachments send by a user fails to upload because of its size and the storage of the email left and so the same happens when it is sent to somebody that fails to download it and receive it. It must be checked that the storage is enough for the attachment to get uploaded and so that the receiver too is compatible to receive the file attachment.
ATTACHMENT COMPATIBILITY:- We often tend to send the attachments to a different user without knowing their system’s compatibility. A sender may have a different version of windows or IOS that may or may not support to download the attachments. Mostly a document sent in a text format opens with the word pad or simply if it is saved with (*.text) format.
THE FILE NAME:- It is important for the receiver as well as the sender to check if the attachments are saved a a file name that contains special characters such as #, *,$, etc. A user should try to save the file again without adding any special character and saving it in their computers.
ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE AND FIREWALL PROXY SETTINGS:- Yahoo! mail has an inbuilt firewall properties and hence conflicting with the settings of another firewall stored in a computer system may restrict the attachments to upload or download in the first place. You may try to simply disable the restrictions from web mails that is part of the settings of any firewall or get in touch with the firewall service provider to do so.
SPECIAL SOFTWARE TO BE INSTALLED:- Sometimes a receiver may have sent you a file that is not supported by any of your already existing applications and so you might have to end up downloading software that helps to open that special kind format. For example, PDF files can only be opened if you have abode acrobat reader installed already.
NOTE:- Yahoo! does not support a variety of file formats, such as .exe, .bat, and .jar, because they can be used to distribute malware.
